From Monday 1 July, entry fees for Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve will come back into effect, following a brief hiatus due to the closure of the Tidbinbilla Visitor Centre.
Executive Branch Manager of the ACT Parks and Conservation Service, Stephen Alegria, said the fees will help continue the maintenance of visitor infrastructure in the reserve.
“As we’ve opened a new temporary visitor centre at Tidbinbilla, we’re re-introducing entry fees that will help the ACT Parks and Conservation Service maintain the reserve that Canberrans and visitors love,” Mr. Alegria said.
“These modest but important fees help us maintain infrastructure, support our volunteers, and undertake critical work to protect, preserve and enhance the environment for our native plants and animals throughout the reserve.
“Visitors can easily purchase a pass by visiting the Access Canberra website and printing it out prior to their visit, or save the receipt on their mobile device to show Visitor Centre staff or rangers if asked. Alternatively, there is a QR code at the Tidbinbilla Visitor Centre that visitors can use to scan and pay when they arrive.
“Pricing does depend on the type of vehicle visitors have, as well as any concessions they might hold. Both day and annual passes are available, and all annual passes which were valid on or after 25 May 2023 will still be valid until 31 December 2024.
“Our friendly staff at the Visitors Centre and rangers are always happy to help with any other questions. We look forward to seeing everyone come and enjoy Tidbinbilla.”
