Toowoomba Parking Fees To Increase From July 1, 2024

Toowoomba Regional Council’s (TRC) on and off-street parking fees across Toowoomba city will increase from July 1, 2024.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Cr Geoff McDonald said Council was retaining the first 30 minutes’ parking for free, pending a review of this, along with stakeholder engagement around aspects of the Toowoomba City Centre Car Parking Strategy in the coming financial year. (Please note, to access the first 30 minutes of free parking, register your parking session arrival and finish times for your parking space, either at a payment machine or via the phone app. This will avoid any potential fine.)

Mayor McDonald said parking policy was a balancing act around providing parking for businesses, residents and workers in Toowoomba’s CBD. He said the small fee increase would help with Council’s rising operating costs.

“Toowoomba’s CBD continues to develop, which in turn places more pressure on the city’s car parking stocks,” Mayor McDonald said.

“Council’s ongoing investment is improving the regular turnover of CBD parking spaces to support surrounding businesses, customers and visitors. There is no shortage of parking in the CBD, with spaces generally available at Council’s various on-street and off-street car parks.
