Officers from Inala Tactical Crime Squad and the Brisbane Dog Squad have arrested three people over an alleged property crime spree, spanning from the Wide Bay to Brisbane’s south over the weekend.
It will be alleged a 27-year-old man, 20-year-old woman and 16-year-old boy stole a white VW Amarok from an address in Bundaberg North around 4pm on Saturday, June 8.
The next day, on June 9, officers were called to reports people were allegedly attempting to break into vehicles on Carnegie Street in Westlake, where they located the stolen vehicle with three people inside.
The trio tried to leave the scene on foot, however the Dog Squad managed to track them down a short distance away and took them into custody.
Centenary Patrol Group Inspector Damien Houston said the TCS and Dog Squad crews worked seamlessly together to ensure the alleged offenders were arrested swiftly, and without further incident.
A 27-year-old Bundaberg East man has been charged with multiple offences, including four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of possess tainted property, and one count each of enter premises and commit and wilful damage.
He was granted police bail and is expected to appear before Bundaberg Magistrates Court on July 8.
A 20-year-old Avoca woman has been charged with multiple offences, including four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of possess tainted property, and one count each of enter premises and commit and wilful damage.
Her police bail was refused and she is expected to appear before Richlands Magistrates Court on July 1.
A 16-year-old boy was issued a Notice to Appear for unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He is expected to appear before Brisbane Childrens Court on June 28.
