Update 2 – PSPA declaration in Kallangur, QLD

Police have charged a man, after an emergency was declared in Kallangur this afternoon.

The emergency situation was declared shortly after midday, after the execution of a search warrant at a residence allegedly uncovered what was believed to be explosive material.

The scene was rendered safe, following a controlled detonation and the material will now be scientifically tested.

Sections of Coppin Street West and Gardner Street West were closed bordering the intersections of Archer and Cliff streets and reopened at 4.30pm.

A 45-year-old Kallangur man has been charged with five counts of supplying dangerous drugs, two counts of knowingly or recklessly importing Tier 1 goods (human growth hormone) without approval and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime and possessing property suspect of having been used in the commission of a drug offence.

He is due to appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on January 16.
