The City of Whittlesea has received enquiries about a proposed Waste to Energy Facility at 510 Summerhill Road, Wollert.
Cleanaway Operations Pty Ltd has applied for a Development Licence from the EPA and a Planning Permit from the Department of Transport and Planning for this facility. The Victorian Government will handle the processing, notification, consultation, and decision-making for these applications. The City of Whittlesea is not responsible for making decisions on this project nor do we have any authority on this matter.
Council, along with other interested parties, has provided submissions to the Victorian Government as part of the planning process and we will continue to strongly advocate for the best possible outcomes for our community.
