Jo Palmer, Minister for Education

An exciting new development is now underway at Glen Dhu Primary School with works commencing on the $750,000 project.

Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said the Tasmanian Liberal Government is getting on with its 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future which delivers the facilities our learners need to thrive.

“These works include improvements to a general learning area and outdoor space for the kindergarten,” Minister Palmer said.

The works are part of the $10 million Contemporary Classrooms Program which is delivering upgrades to outdated classrooms at 12 schools across Tasmania.

“Under our government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we are continuing to invest heavily in the future of our learners, with $188 million to deliver major upgrades a further 15 schools across the State.

Through the program, upgrades have already been completed at Campbell Town District School, Lilydale District School, South George Town Primary School, Dodges Ferry Primary School, East Derwent Primary School, Havenview Primary School and Risdon Vale Primary School.

“Works are also currently underway at Ringarooma Primary School and Rosetta Primary School, and construction will shortly commence at Mowbray Heights Primary School and Port Dalrymple School,” Minister Palmer said.

The project is due to be completed by the end of 2024.
