Workshop For Supervisors Of Learner Drivers 1 May

Learner-Driver-workshop-web2Hawkesbury City Council will host a free online workshop for parents, carers, and supervisors of learner drivers in the Hawkesbury on Thursday, 16 May 2024 from 6pm to 7:30pm.

The 90-minute session will offer practical advice for parents, carers and supervisors of learner drivers about:

  • current driving rules and requirements for L and P platers
  • how learners benefit from supervised on-road driving
  • how you can help to make learning to drive a safe and positive experience.

Young drivers and novice drivers face many challenges when learning the complex task of driving. With their relative inexperience, they also face a higher risk of being involved in a crash.

Young drivers are overrepresented in NSW crashes. Despite making up only about 15% of all licence holders, the crashes that involve young drivers under 26 years old account for almost a quarter of all people who lose their lives annually on the roads.

The workshop will cover the current laws of L and P licence holders, completing the Learner Driver Logbook, understanding the benefits of supervised on-road driving experience, the Safer Drivers Course and tips to help you and your Learner.

Bookings are essential as places are limited. Log in details to the Teams meeting will be emailed to registered participants a few days before the event. This workshop is open to Hawkesbury residents.
