World-class Event Comes To Region

MidCoast Council

MidCoast Council has partnered with Paul Bennet Airshows to bring the inaugural Barrington Coast Airshow to the region.

The world-class event, scheduled for Saturday 9 November at the Taree Regional Airport, is expected to attract more than 6,000 visitors.

Headlining the Barrington Coast Airshow is Paul Bennet, an internationally recognised airshow pilot and the current Australian Unlimited Freestyle Champion.

The Barrington Coast Airshow will also feature a diverse lineup of aerial performances, including aerobatic displays, warbirds and on-ground entertainment including exhibits and food vendors.

Mayor Claire Pontin has welcomed the partnership with Paul Bennet Airshows as a step toward delivering key actions in the recently adopted MidCoast Economic Development Strategy and Destination Management Plan.

“Attracting regionally significant events is an important part of our approach to economic and destination development and I am pleased we have been able to work with the organisers to bring this world-class airshow to our skies,” Cr Pontin said.

As a signature regional event, MidCoast Council has provided a sponsorship package for the airshow and has worked with organisers closely to deliver an unforgettable experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike.

“With more than 6,000 visitors expected to come to the Barrington Coast for the one-day event, we anticipate it will provide over $2 million in economic impact for our local businesses and be a great way to connect our local communities,” Cr Pontin said.

The Barrington Coast Airshow is one of the biggest events to ever be held in the region and is an important step in securing and retaining other major events into the future.

“Our strategic approach to event attraction is about offering diversity in our major events calendar, attracting new visitors and leveraging partnerships to be a regional leader in event collaboration.”
